awesome finds -3/28

WOOOOO-HOOOOO!

got all my stuff in today, of course it wasn’t until 6pm that fedex shows up at my house….

but this is all the stuff i got today and in the last week or so:

  • marvel legends series 2
  • movie masters avatar figure - $3.99!!!!!
  • fansproject warbot defender aka springer!!!!!
  • movie masters green lantern 2pk - (i just wanted the maskless GL) -$10 for both.
  • arkham city 2pk -batman and cat woman
  • ultra act mirror knight
  • and my badass guyver I (with alt. head!)

Looooove that springer and guyver.  Still on the lookout for FF Spidey.

Vintage Collection General Grievous

I love me my General Grievous.  Admittedly, George Lucas fucked up a beautiful thing we had going in the original Clone Wars cartoon by turning an incredible engine of death into an Asthmatic Robo-Slug.  But the design of movie Grievous was still solid.

I’ve never been a big fan of Star Wars toys outside of the Force Unleashed line of plastic statues.  I think it’s always been a combination of not liking the size, lack of decent articulation, and sculpts/paint apps that appear to be applied by blind, thumbless monkeys.

But…

I was at the Wal-mart checking to see if they’ve got the new TF: Prime toys and/or leader class DotM toys have dropped in price. No on both counts and then a complete headscratcher when I noticed that people had bought all three $75 DCU Crime Syndicate boxsets.  As I was leaving the aisle, this Grievous caught my eye. I love the packaging.  They even put the old Kenner logo on the front!

He’s pretty damn awesome.  Paint is great.  Poseable as hell.  He comes with two lightsabers, two hilts, a blaster, and a removable cape.  The cape features 8 pockets for lightsaber hilts.  The arms separate into four smaller arms like in the film.  Tighter hands for holding the accessories and two ball joints in the hips would have made this guy perfect but does not change my very high recommendation.

i’m so stoked about marvel legends coming back in 2012

and since DC “all stars” will seem to be rereleasing/repackaging older figures (yeah..check this shit out), i don’t see the need to give them any of my money this year. but more than likely, i will be picking up singles IF i come across them at local retailers….

ahem..anyways…

so i’m def. getting ALL of series 1. its such a good line up!!!

i didn’t get the SDCC thor only cuz i know i’m gonna buy the whole set. ( really don’t care for ghost rider and his dumb costume but i’ll deal…)

series 2? i think is kinda dumb.

i’ll get bucky cap and def. fantomex…

but i think its stupid that the variant figures of thunderball (piledriver) and madame mask (madame hydra) are gonna come w/ a variant BAF part.  just so they can have BAF arin zola/red skull zola.

its cool if you’re a completist, but i think its a stupid ploy for hasbro to get you to buy more figures. and they know people are gonna do it too.

but hey…if you make it, people will buy it.

definitely picking up Commander Rogers

New Powercore Combiner Transformer named Spastic.  “Spastic” is the UK equivalent of calling someone a “Retard” in America.  And in case one is wondering if this is simply an instance of culture clash,  TFA Snarl here was originally going to be named “Slag” like his G1 counterpart until the marketing whizzes at Hasbro learned that “Slag” is a UK term for prostitute.  Full marks, Hasbro!
