In perusing Sgt. Slaughter’s Wiki article, I came across this gem of knowledge:
“Along with the traditional merchandising of WWE superstars, Sgt. Slaughter is one of only a few real people to be immortalized as a G.I. Joe figure, (among the others being NFL football player William “The Refrigerator” Perry, pro-wrestler Roddy Piper, and astronaut Buzz Aldrin)…”
Immediately, I began to dream of an 80s hour-long action/drama ala The A-Team in which
-The Amazing Colossal Buzz Aldrin (The Brains) (his GI Joe is an old 12 incher, so the show’s prologue would explain that as a result of exposure to SPACE RAYS, Buzz grew to enormous size)
-Sgt. Slaughter (The Tactician)
-The Fridge (The Muscle)
-“Rowdy” Roddy Piper (Wild Card/Demolitions Expert)
travel the world in their space shuttle headquarters solving crimes, punishing the wicked, and helping the helpless as
THE ASTRO ALL-STAR FIGHTING FORCE!
(or some better name)
Who’s with me?
TRIPLE FEATURE TUESDAY: Live Action Movies Based on 80s Cartoons
3. GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra (2009)
probably the best compilation I’ve seen so far…
I don’t know who drew this but I want to hug him/her for putting as many things that 10 year old me absolutely adores.
Oh crap! We wore the same outfit!
